One of my favorite moments was during a recent lesson when students independently walked over to an anchor chart to support their work showing real ownership of their learning and confidence in using classroom resources.\r\nWhen my students first saw the corkwood paper, they were genuinely excited. They immediately noticed how sturdy and professional it looked, and they loved that our charts could stay up neatly instead of being taken down or damaged. Several students even commented that our classroom \"looked like a real learning space,\" which made them feel proud and motivated to contribute meaningful ideas to our charts.\r\nBecause of your generosity, our next steps include continuing to build and display anchor charts that support our current lessons and future units. Students will help create new charts as we learn new skills, and they'll use them as reference tools during independent and group work. We are also grateful for the sticky notes for multiple reasons. Students are using them when writing to spell a word independently, then bringing it to me to check. I notice they are spelling more correctly and using words they weren't even trying before. The sticky notes also make it easy for students to label visual charts, such as when we study the regions of California or learn about the life cycle of apples. The thin whiteboard markers and lined whiteboards have further supported our writing and math practice.
