The addition of these books and materials has brought a fresh energy into our daily routines, and I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to provide my students with engaging and diverse reading options.\r\n\r\nSince receiving the new resources, we have incorporated them into our daily literacy activities. Students now have a wider selection during independent reading time, and we also use the books for small group lessons and thematic units. The variety has allowed students to explore different genres and topics, sparking greater excitement for reading and learning.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the new materials, their faces lit up with pure joy. Many of them gasped, pointed to favorite characters or colorful covers, and immediately began picking out books to read. It was heartwarming to see even my more reluctant readers eager to dive into the new selections. The excitement carried into our conversations, with students recommending books to each other and eagerly discussing what they had read.\r\n\r\nOur next steps are to continue building reading stamina and comprehension skills. We are starting a \"Book Talk\" project where students will choose a book from the new library, summarize it, and share their favorite parts with the class. This will help strengthen speaking and listening skills, as well as deepen their understanding of story elements like character, setting, and plot.\r\n\r\nThank you again for helping us bring the joy of reading to life in our classroom. These resources are making a lasting difference in our students' educational journey.","fullyFundedDate":1735968428070,"projectUrl":"project/creating-an-accessible-and-engaging-clas/9028426/","projectTitle":"Creating an Accessible and Engaging Classroom Library","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Ruiz","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9850699"},{"teacherId":8360800,"projectId":8984466,"letterContent":"My students have truly enjoyed using the new sensory tools and calming resources in our classroom. These materials have been a game-changer, especially during moments when students feel overwhelmed or need to regulate their emotions. Whether it's using fidget tools, weighted items, or just spending a few quiet minutes in the calming corner, the students feel more supported and able to return to learning focused and refreshed.\r\n\r\nThis week, after completing their state assessments, the students were especially grateful to have a place to unwind. Testing can be stressful, and many of them used the calming area to decompress afterward. Watching them independently choose tools that help them feel better showed just how meaningful these resources have become in our daily routine.\r\n\r\nThank you so much for your generous donations! I'm deeply grateful for your support, and I'm excited to continue using these tools with next year's class as well. Every student deserves a safe and calming space, and thanks to you, we now have one that will benefit many learners for years to come.","fullyFundedDate":1736870019480,"projectUrl":"project/empowering-students-through-emotional-su/8984466/","projectTitle":"Empowering Students Through Emotional Support","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Barabino","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8360800_orig.jpg?crop=960,960,x0,y70&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1646795269861","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/jbarabino"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_56165","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":349,"numTeachers":24,"percentFrplEligible":90,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":1,"percentWhite":47,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":45,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 4","studentTeacherRatio":"14.5:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":44.6,"schoolId":56165,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Diamondback Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Diamondback Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/arizona/bullhead-city-elementary-school-district-15/diamondback-elementary-school/56165"}
