The flexible seating has made a huge impact on the social and emotional well-being of my students. I'll never forget their faces when they walked into the room on the first day. I've never seen so much joy in one space before. Every morning, each student gets to pick which chair they would like to sit in for the day. It is theirs for the day. They are able to choose where in the room they want to sit. This happens during our Morning Meeting when we talk about our day and connect before our language arts block begins. The conversations I hear while they are working are so special. This is their classroom and it now feels like a home. So far, the yoga ball chairs, that is what they call them, are the favorite. Other names for our seats are the camping chairs, donut chairs and cushions (\"These are so comfortable!\"). Sometimes the donut chairs loose air because the plug will come out. The students love when I pull out the provided pumper to fill them back in. The students really enjoy when they are extra bouncy :). We use our seats during every subject, in every part of our day. \r\n\r\nWhen other teachers come into my room, they comment on the seats and how much they love them, saying how happy my students must be to have them. When they ask where they came from, I always mention you and your kindness. Please know you have supported my students (and future students) and their learning in an infinite number of ways.","fullyFundedDate":1761312006702,"projectUrl":"project/flexing-in-2nd-grade/9645337/","projectTitle":"Flexing in 2nd Grade","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Capriolo","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-3_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/412584"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_89303","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":402,"numTeachers":36,"percentFrplEligible":6,"percentAsian":37,"percentBlack":1,"percentWhite":51,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":2,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 4","studentTeacherRatio":"11.2:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":100.0,"schoolId":89303,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Devon Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Devon Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/pennsylvania/tredyffrin-easttown-sch-dist/devon-elementary-school/89303"}
