The emotional plush toys and fidget sensory tools have helped students identify and manage their emotions, giving them a calming outlet when they feel overwhelmed. I have seen students who were previously anxious or distracted participate more confidently in class activities, and their ability to self-regulate has improved noticeably.\r\n\r\nThe exercise dice and spot markers have made our physical activities more interactive and exciting. Students are more motivated to move, practice teamwork, and try new exercises, which has positively impacted their overall fitness and participation levels. The human body puzzle has sparked curiosity about health and anatomy, encouraging students to ask questions and make connections between movement and their own bodies.\r\n\r\nBrowndages skin-tone bandages and first aid kits have helped create an inclusive environment where every student feels seen and cared for. When minor injuries happen, students respond with calm confidence, knowing they have the proper resources. Mini composition notebooks and dry-erase boards have given students tools to track their goals and reflect on their growth, fostering responsibility, focus, and self-awareness.\r\n\r\nOverall, these resources have made a measurable difference in my students' physical, emotional, and social development. Many of them do not have access to such tools at home, and seeing their excitement and engagement during PE has been incredibly rewarding. Your support has allowed us to create a gym where every child can feel safe, included, and motivated to learn—both in body and in mind.\r\n\r\nThank you for helping us build a space where students thrive. Your generosity is making a lasting impact on their growth, confidence, and joy in learning.","fullyFundedDate":1746786331915,"projectUrl":"project/fun-and-feeling-elementary-pe/9121856/","projectTitle":"Fun and Feeling Elementary PE","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Williams","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9901481_orig.jpg?crop=180,180,x0,y32&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1737999009875","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9901481"},{"teacherId":9901481,"projectId":9075797,"letterContent":"This project has had a tremendous and lasting impact on my students' learning and overall experience in physical education. As a Title I school, many of our students do not have regular access to sports equipment or opportunities to explore different activities outside of school. Because of the incredible generosity of the DonorsChoose community, our PE program has been transformed into an environment where students not only learn physical skills, but also gain confidence, discover new interests, and develop a love for staying active.\r\n\r\nWith the materials provided, I have been able to introduce my students to sports and activities that were previously out of reach. One of the biggest highlights has been the new crossnet equipment. The students' excitement the first day they saw it set up in the gym was contagious! Many of them had never played a game like this before, and it quickly became one of their favorite activities. The crossnet allows for multiple small games to happen at once, which means every student is more engaged and gets more hands-on practice. It's not just about playing — they are learning essential skills like teamwork, communication, spatial awareness, and problem-solving in a fun and energetic way.\r\n\r\nIn addition to the crossnet, the other equipment we received has made it possible to diversify our lessons. I can now rotate through more stations, offer choice-based activities, and keep students actively involved the entire class period. This variety not only keeps them excited but also reaches different learning styles and abilities. Some students thrive in competitive games, while others prefer skill challenges or cooperative play — and now, I can meet all of those needs. The new equipment has also helped me reinforce the Texas PE standards more effectively because I can set up activities that focus on specific skill development without having to compromise due to lack of resources.\r\n\r\nBefore this project, I sometimes had to be creative with limited tools, which meant certain sports or skill progressions were left out of our curriculum. Now, I can provide my students with a richer and more well-rounded physical education experience. For example, I can set up volleyball skill stations, striking games, and net-based challenges without having to dismantle one activity to create another. The efficiency and flexibility these materials provide have elevated my teaching and allowed me to focus on instruction rather than equipment limitations.\r\n\r\nWhat has touched me the most is seeing the joy and pride on my students' faces. They know this equipment was provided by people who care — people they may never meet, but who believe in their potential and deserve every bit of appreciation we can give. The DonorsChoose community has not just provided \"things,\" they have provided opportunities, experiences, and memories that will shape my students far beyond the walls of the gym.\r\n\r\nFrom the bottom of my heart, and on behalf of my entire school, I want to thank the DonorsChoose community for their generosity. You have inspired my students to move more, try new things, and believe that people out there want them to succeed. You have made our gym a place of excitement and exploration, and for that, we are forever grateful.","fullyFundedDate":1744252750868,"projectUrl":"project/title-i-elementary-field-day/9075797/","projectTitle":"Title I Elementary Field Day","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Williams","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9901481_orig.jpg?crop=180,180,x0,y32&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1737999009875","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9901481"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_12742","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":507,"numTeachers":48,"percentFrplEligible":90,"percentAsian":2,"percentBlack":6,"percentWhite":5,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":82,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"10.6:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":69.7,"schoolId":12742,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Delco Primary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Delco Primary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/texas/pflugerville-independent-school-district/delco-primary-school/12742"}
