The first project was creating name tents for each student's desk, which serve as both identification tools and quick reference guides throughout the semester. Having multiple color options for the paper allowed students to choose colors that reflected their personal preferences, giving them ownership over their workspace from day one. Some students selected bold, bright colors while others chose softer tones, and this simple choice helped them feel more comfortable and invested in the classroom environment. We used the label maker to create clear organizational systems for our materials, and the paper storage organizer now holds the various colored paper options so students can access them independently for future projects.\r\n\r\nCurrently, we're using the colorful paper for our Graphing Polynomials project, where students are creating visual representations of polynomial functions with different degrees. Each degree of polynomial is assigned a different color, making it easier for students to identify patterns in end behavior, turning points, and the relationship between degree and graph shape. The colorful tape has been essential for creating large-scale coordinate grids directly on desktops and even on the floor, allowing students to plot points and trace polynomial curves at a scale where they can physically see the transformations. Students use multiple colors of tape to distinguish between the x-axis, y-axis, and the actual function graphs, which helps them understand the relationship between equations and their visual representations. The staple gun allows us to mount student work and anchor charts on our classroom walls, creating a resource-rich environment where students can reference key polynomial properties throughout the unit. These materials have streamlined our classroom organization and provided practical tools that support hands-on learning activities across our curriculum.","fullyFundedDate":1785695486681,"projectUrl":"project/math-in-living-color-resources-for-acti/10410364/","projectTitle":"Math in Living Color: Resources for Active Engagement","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Israelyan","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8636801_orig.jpg?crop=2384,2384,x0,y166&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1691167622998","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8636801"},{"teacherId":9744279,"projectId":9824070,"letterContent":"These donations helped my students to calm down and regulate their sensory overload at school. Your generosity and willingness to invest in my classroom mean so much to me, but more importantly, your support will make a meaningful difference for my students. As a teacher, I know that having the right materials and resources can make a huge impact on how students feel about school, how engaged they are in learning, and how successful they can be throughout the year. Because of your generosity, I am able to begin the school year with materials that will help create a more organized, welcoming, and engaging health classroom.\r\n\r\nThe beginning of a school year is always an exciting time. It is a chance for students to start fresh, set new goals, and build positive relationships with their teachers and classmates. In Health class, I want my students to feel comfortable, supported, and ready to participate from the very first day. The materials provided through this project will help me create an environment where students have the tools they need to learn, participate, and stay organized. Having these resources available means that students can spend less time worrying about whether they have what they need and more time focusing on learning important skills that they can use both inside and outside of the classroom.\r\n\r\nHealth education is about so much more than simply learning facts from a textbook. My goal is to help students develop the knowledge, skills, and confidence they need to make healthy decisions throughout their lives. We talk about mental and emotional health, nutrition, physical health, relationships, personal wellness, safety, and many other topics that directly affect teenagers. These are skills that students can carry with them long after they leave my classroom. When students have engaging materials and hands-on opportunities to learn, they are more likely to participate, ask questions, and connect what we are learning to their own lives.\r\n\r\nYour donation also helps me provide students with a classroom that feels prepared and ready for them. For many students, walking into a classroom that is organized, welcoming, and stocked with the materials they need can make a difference in their confidence. I want my students to know that their classroom is a place where they belong and where their success matters. The resources from the Health Class Reset project will help me create that kind of environment as we begin a new school year.\r\n\r\nI am especially grateful because teachers often spend a great deal of time and personal resources trying to make their classrooms the best they can be. Support from donors allows me to provide things that I may not otherwise be able to purchase for my students. Your contribution helps stretch my classroom budget further and allows me to focus on what matters most: creating meaningful learning experiences for my students. Every item purchased through your support will have a purpose and will help me prepare my students for a successful year.\r\n\r\nThank you for believing in my students and for believing in the importance of health education. Your generosity is not simply providing supplies—it is helping create opportunities for students to learn, grow, build confidence, and develop skills that can positively impact their futures. I hope you know how much your support is appreciated and how excited I am to put these materials to use throughout the school year.\r\n\r\nBecause of you, my students will walk into a classroom that is ready for them from day one. Thank you for helping me give them the tools, resources, and supportive environment they deserve. Instead of just looking at random nutrition labels online, students were able to analyze the actual snacks in front of them. Being able to physically hold and evaluate the products made the lesson more real and engaging.\r\n\r\nWhen I first brought the snacks out, the room lit up. Many of my students immediately asked, \"Wait, these are for us?\" They were excited — not just because they were getting a snack — but because they understood that someone cared enough to support their learning. It created a sense of gratitude and connection in the classroom.\r\n\r\nOne especially powerful moment came when students realized how much sugar was in some of their favorite drinks. Several said they had no idea and started talking about making different choices before practices or games.
