This technology has made a meaningful difference in our classroom by allowing all students to fully participate in digital learning programs. Many of our lessons include adaptive learning platforms that adjust to each student's individual needs, and having headphones ensures that students can focus, hear instructions clearly, and work at their own pace without distractions. It has truly helped create a more equitable learning environment, especially for the seven students who were not able to bring headphones from home.\r\n\r\nThe most exciting part for students has been the independence these headphones provide. They love being able to engage with interactive lessons, listen to audio, and complete activities without interruption. It has made learning feel more personalized and engaging. In particular, several students who are typically more easily distracted have really thrived—they are more focused, confident, and willing to take their time working through challenging material.\r\n\r\nThese headphones have also played an important role beyond daily lessons. We used them to prepare for our UIL listening skills competition, giving students the opportunity to practice and build their confidence. Thanks to this consistent practice, one of our students earned second place in the listening skills event—an accomplishment we are so proud of! Your generosity has not only supported everyday learning but has also opened doors for student success in new and exciting ways.","fullyFundedDate":1767239020460,"projectUrl":"project/tune-in-to-education/9749728/","projectTitle":"Tune in to Education","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Birdwell","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9776836"},{"teacherId":9776836,"projectId":9562742,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous support of our classroom. Because of you, our students now have access to essential materials like paper, cardstock, clipboards, and glue sticks that we use every single day. These resources have already made a meaningful difference in how we learn and create together. Recently, students used the cardstock and glue sticks to design hands-on science foldables and interactive notebooks, which helped them better organize their thinking and stay engaged in the lesson. Having clipboards has also allowed us to move around the classroom and even work in flexible seating spaces, making learning feel more active and student-centered.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, my students were genuinely excited. Something as simple as fresh supplies sparked joy and motivation. They couldn't wait to use them! It was a reminder that having the right tools can boost both confidence and creativity in such a powerful way.\r\n\r\nAs we move forward, these materials will continue to support our learning in meaningful ways. We are currently working on building stronger science and reading connections through interactive projects, and these supplies will allow students to create more detailed responses, visual representations, and collaborative work. Your kindness has helped create a classroom environment where students feel prepared, inspired, and ready to learn. We use the Play-Doh to form letters and shapes during our literacy and fine motor activities. We also use them to just explore with them and just play. We use the markers for drawing, coloring, and tracing. One special moment was watching students proudly show the letters they made with Play-Doh. Next, we will continue using these materials to practice letters, forming numbers, and shapes. My students absolutely just love everything we received. We learned how we can manage anger by using breathing techniques to help us calm down, and to pause before acting, and showing empathy. We also learned how to use kind words and to problem-solve. In our classroom, we read as a class. We sit quietly on the carpet and students act out parts of the story. It's very interactive. We learned a lot just by acting out parts of the story and the students really enjoy being party of our read alouds. I have one particular student who really enjoys this book being read to him. It has helped him and the entire class learn some great techniques on how to calm ourselves down when we have some really big emotions.","fullyFundedDate":1746841729807,"projectUrl":"project/social-emotional-learning-resources/9050096/","projectTitle":"Social Emotional Learning Resources","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Valero","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9214226_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1694749678651","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9214226"},{"teacherId":9214226,"projectId":9304632,"letterContent":"Our Pre-K class was super excited when they saw all of the new resources we received from Donors Choose. From the first day that students stepped in my classroom, they were easily able to find books at their level that caught their interest because of the organization that these materials provided. With the four book shelves, we now have ample space for me to continue building our classroom library. The students were most excited to see that we have four \"comfy chairs\" in our library for them to use. It was a fight the first week of school over who would get to use them first, but having students arguing over who gets to go read first is music to my ears. \r\n\r\nThank you from the bottom of my heart for helping me instill a love of reading in these kids. Students also engaged in many different math center activities including \"Battleship\" to practice graphing and a water bottle flip challenge to practice collecting data. To prepare for our science test, I was able to create science rotation stations using folders and the clear page protectors.
