As a first year art teacher, in a brand new room to me, I cannot believe all that we have done with your contributions. From the playdough accessories (that allowed students to create thigs they may have never before with your typical playdough tools), to the modeling clay (that allows students to create and recreate again and again), and to our huge order of clay (that allow every single student in the school to create something), the possibilities are endless! \r\nThe air dry clay was the first to get our hands on and this allowed students of all ages and abilities to create something meaningful to them in quick turn around projects. The one that stands out to me is our snowmen created by our SSN students. The creating capabilities of these students if so diverse and I really wanted to get them creating with their hands to build on their fine motor skills. This had to be a class favorite, students and paras! They are all so unique and are made even more unique with hand picked ribbon for scarves and details added with paint. \r\nOur students in every grade shared with me on day 1 that their biggest desire in the art room was to use clay. When they saw the cart rolling down the hallway with 500 lbs. of clay, their eyes lit up, asking me what we were going to make with that. Once I learned how to use our kiln safely, we were all set to start! So far I've had 3rd and 4th grade classes create beautiful pieces of art with the stoneware clay. This is the clay that goes into the kiln. 3rd grade learned how to build a coil pot and how to add fun details such as handles or shaping the coils in fun shapes and adding little ball details around the top. 4th grade made tic tac toe boards! They were so excited when I showed them some examples of what they can create. They were all so creative when sketching their plans. The board and pieces were to go together as a theme, such as a basketball theme where the board is the court and the players are basketballs or jerseys! The broad idea of both clay lessons was to have something handmade by the students to bring to their families as something they can use, or play with, together or gift to someone they love for the holidays. I really wanted to teach the idea of togetherness and showing and spreading love and I believe your contributions to our sculpture studio has helped us achieve this. \r\nSo thank you from the bottom of mine and my tiny little artists' hearts for donating to our project! If you follow me in Instagram, you will be sure to see a whole lot more as we have big plans with all of this clay!","fullyFundedDate":1726808110583,"projectUrl":"project/sculpting-young-artists/8795441/","projectTitle":"Sculpting Young Artists","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Gulino","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9636466_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1724153634529","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9636466"},{"teacherId":4594495,"projectId":8922622,"letterContent":"We are so excited to have rewards, incentives, and materials for our Rocky Shop!\r\n\r\nOur next shop is this Friday, and students are anticipating counting their Deane Dollars, organizing them in groups of 10s and spending their earned money (or choosing to save!).\r\n\r\nThe winter pencils, stickers, and bookmarks are going to be such a fun addition to the shop. \r\n\r\nWe read A Street Through Time just last week, and students were so engaged in discussing the changes they saw occur during different eras and centuries. \r\n\r\nWe are so appreciative of your support, and can't wait to reward students, build their financial literacy, and instill in them strong work ethics and motivation!","fullyFundedDate":1731161362078,"projectUrl":"project/literacy-materials/8922622/","projectTitle":"Literacy Materials","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Holmes","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp4594495_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1509808490609","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/4594495"},{"teacherId":4594495,"projectId":8531186,"letterContent":"From a teacher standpoint, the diffuser has been a game changer!
