Your support has given our students the exciting opportunity to engage in hands-on learning and discover the fundamentals of plant growth, food production, and sustainable agriculture in a more accessible and meaningful way.\r\n\r\nThe addition of these planters has transformed our classroom environment, allowing students to take ownership of their learning by planting, caring for, and observing their crops up close. The portability of the planters also means we can adapt our growing spaces as needed and involve more students across different classrooms and grade levels. I am writing to express my sincere and heartfelt gratitude for your recent donation, which allowed us to purchase new welding gloves for our shop students. Your generosity is deeply appreciated, and I want to take a moment to share just how much of an impact your support has had—and will continue to have—on our program, our students, and our daily work in the shop.\r\n\r\nIn a hands-on learning environment like ours, the quality and availability of safety equipment are absolutely essential. Welding gloves are not just a basic tool; they are a critical part of keeping students safe while they learn the valuable trade of welding. Without proper gloves, students are at risk of burns, injuries, and discomfort that can interfere with both their confidence and ability to learn. With your support, each student now has access to high-quality, properly fitting gloves that offer them the protection they need and deserve.","fullyFundedDate":1749498123714,"projectUrl":"project/welding-gloves-for-shop-class/9392062/","projectTitle":"Welding Gloves for Shop Class","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Morgan","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9165660_orig.jpg?crop=504,504,x0,y235&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1691385340196","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9165660"},{"teacherId":9566595,"projectId":9190698,"letterContent":"With the addition of these new and engaging resources, my HiCap students are having fun while being challenged at the same time. We actually received these items toward the end of the last school year and had a few different chances to pull the items out for use. We have only had one session with them this year, but the students gravitated right back to their favorites from last year.\r\nThe Shashibo cubes have been the most popular and get all students to think creatively. There is no \"right\" answer to these. The goal is to see how many of the different shapes they can come up with, and then they can go further by adding two or more cubes together. This has been really good for my students who tend to be a bit perfectionistic because it allows them to work without judgment.\r\nAnother activity that a few students really enjoy is the Uzzle game. My students who tend to be visual thinkers can get the shape done fairly quickly, but then they wait and encourage their partners to finish theirs, and it is great to see them celebrate the completion of the task. There is a bit of competition, but it has also built compassion.\r\nThis year, we are focusing on expanding their capacity for creative thinking, and these games and items will continue to help them with thinking outside the box.","fullyFundedDate":1746573835450,"projectUrl":"project/challenging-high-achieving-students/9190698/","projectTitle":"Challenging High Achieving Students","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Frankie","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9566595_orig.jpg?crop=1898,1898,x139,y331&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1718051275958","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9566595"},{"teacherId":9566595,"projectId":9123368,"letterContent":"Your donations to my class have made things much nicer and more enjoyable for my students. They love knowing that there are people out there who want them to have new items that challenge them and that help them be more successful in math class.\r\nI have given out about half of the spiral notebooks as students needed new ones to finish taking notes for this year. They also use them for doing practice math work. I have two students work through the Math 4 Love Multiplication by Heart set. They are becoming more successful with multiplication by memory and not having to count up on their fingers.\r\nAs we are nearing the end of the school year I am looking for more engaging, but still mathematical activities for my students. I have had a few students reading out of the book, What's the Point of Math, and based on their comments and some bookmarks in the book I am planning some activities from it. One that I specifically will be working on is how writing numbers has evolved.\r\nThe most interest and enjoyment has come from the Math 4 Love 21st Century Pattern Blocks and the 3-D Triangle metal puzzle toy. These are the two things students gravitate towards most often. The puzzle challenges them and the pattern blocks challenge and bring comfort to some.\r\nThank you again for supporting my wonderful middle school students.","fullyFundedDate":1740264906476,"projectUrl":"project/giving-students-tools-for-success/9123368/","projectTitle":"Giving Students Tools for Success","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Frankie","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9566595_orig.jpg?crop=1898,1898,x139,y331&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1718051275958","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9566595"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_35570","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":182,"numTeachers":11,"percentFrplEligible":59,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":75,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":20,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"6 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"16.5:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_DISTANT"},"inStateSupporters":82.6,"schoolId":35570,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Dayton Middle High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Dayton Middle High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/washington/dayton-school-district-2/dayton-high-school/35570"}
