Your willingness to fund this project has made a meaningful difference in my classroom, and I am incredibly grateful. As I shared in my proposal, my goal is to boost attendance and help students see how math connects to real life. Thanks to you, that vision is now a reality. I included a photo of the students' checkbook register in my project so you could see how we are practicing real-world financial literacy skills. Before submitting the project, I asked my students what they would like to see in our classroom store, and their input helped shape what we ordered.\r\nWhen the items arrived—right in the middle of class—the excitement was contagious! We paused our lesson so students could help unbox everything. Immediately, they began asking thoughtful questions: \"How much will everything cost?\" \"Do we have to wait until Friday to shop?\" \"When are our bills due?\" I overheard students talking to each other, saying things like, \"I can afford that!\" and \"I need to make sure my bills are paid first.\" In those moments, math became real, relevant, and exciting. One of my favorite comments came on Thursday as students peeked into the store cabinet to plan for Friday: \"I need to come to school more so that I can have more money to shop on Fridays.\" Hearing that confirmed that this project is already motivating students to improve their attendance and take ownership of their learning.\r\nThis feels like just the beginning for the Hellbender Trading Co. Our principal was so impressed that she asked me to collaborate with the middle school teacher so their students can participate as well. This partnership will allow us to impact even more students and continue expanding the store.\r\nThank you again for believing in my students and in this project. Your generosity is helping make math meaningful, practical, and motivating.
