The apple spots give each student their own designated space on the carpet, making it much easier for my kindergarteners to know where to sit and helping us transition to the carpet quickly and efficiently.\r\n\r\nOn the first day of school, students were excited to gather on the rug, but we were still learning how to find our spaces and give others enough room. The apple spots have provided a simple visual reminder of what it means to be a good carpet sitter. When students sit on their own apple, everyone has enough space to learn, participate, and see the teacher and their classmates.\r\n\r\nI also added each student's name to their apple using tape. This has helped students begin memorizing where they sit while also recognizing their name in a meaningful, everyday way. As the year continues, students will be able to independently find their spots and transition to the carpet with less teacher direction.\r\n\r\nThis rug has helped us build independence, practice classroom routines, and maximize our learning time. Something as simple as having a designated space has made a big difference for my young learners!","fullyFundedDate":1782594583261,"projectUrl":"project/a-rug-for-learning-and-growth/10290764/","projectTitle":"A Rug for Learning and Growth","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Mountain","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10511175"},{"teacherId":10511175,"projectId":10289441,"letterContent":"Thank you for supporting our kindergarten classroom!\r\n\r\nThe rolling carts have made a wonderful difference in our classroom. With a classroom full of young learners, organization and independence are important parts of our everyday routines. These carts give each table group a designated space for the materials they use most often, including iPads, pencil boxes, folders, and other classroom supplies.\r\n\r\nInstead of spending valuable learning time searching for materials or waiting for an adult to help, students can quickly find what they need, use it, and return it to its proper place. This simple system has helped our classroom run more smoothly while giving students opportunities to practice responsibility and independence.\r\n\r\nFor my kindergarteners, being able to manage their own materials is a big accomplishment! The carts have helped create a more organized learning environment where students can focus less on finding their supplies and more on learning, exploring, creating, and growing.\r\n\r\nThank you for helping make our classroom a more organized, independent, and student-centered space.
