The wobble chairs, ball chairs, and seat cushions are used every class throughout the day. They help students to have a little movement throughout the class period, which helps many of them to self-regulate and stay focused on our learning. The chair bands serve a similar purpose, and have been great to have for feet fidgeting and maintaining focus. Our highlighters and reading rulers have also been wonderful to use with reading activities. The reading rulers help students to stay focused on where we are in the text, along with highlighting important parts of the text that students need to refer back to while constructing written responses. Our timers are used for both fluency activities and as individual task timers to increase focus on the current assigned task. Lastly, the fidgets we have been able to provide have been great tools for students to use when they need sensory input in order to learn best. \r\n\r\nYour generosity and support for my students is making an impact everyday. Because of your support, we were able to add fidget tools and STEM activities to our learning space! These resources have already been so valuableāstudents use them during brain breaks, as early-finisher activities, and as tools to support focus during lessons.\r\n\r\nLast year, in our after-school program, students were especially excited to explore the new materials. They used the building tools to spark creativity, design challenges and games, and enjoy a much-needed break after a long day. This year, I plan to incorporate them into ELA as a morning work option and as an early-finisher choice. Not only will this give students a healthy break from screens, but it will also encourage imagination, problem-solving, and collaboration.\r\n\r\nWe are truly grateful to have these resources in our classroom and look forward to using them for years to come. I, along with my students, are forever grateful for your generous donations towards my 6th grade classroom. \r\n\r\nAs the boxes got delivered it was like Christmas morning. The students were all wondering who they were for and what was inside each one. When I explained that we received generous donations for our classroom, the students were sooooo excited. Students helped me unbox the items and right away started utilizing the gifts. \r\n\r\nNo matter if the item was big or small, each item made a huge impact in the classroom. Students loved being able to pick up one or two floor cushions to have at their seat or on the floor as they worked. Of course, what would be a 6th grade classroom without the students also trying to see how tall they could stack the cushions or color-coding them as they put them away for the day. The extra pencils I received were very appreciated when a student forgot theirs in their lockers. My students thoroughly enjoyed playing the reading comprehension game as preparation for our state testing. The smelly bookmarks were also a hit as students could choose from these as an award with their \"educational dollars\". Lastly, the organization bins make my classroom feel put together and aesthetically pleasing. \r\n\r\nOnce again, thank you so much for your generous contributions towards my 6th grade classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1741963998910,"projectUrl":"project/learning-is-enhanced-by-the-little-thing/9145425/","projectTitle":"Learning is Enhanced by the Little Things","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Otto","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9936657"},{"teacherId":9450824,"projectId":8632183,"letterContent":"Science should be experienced by students. Tried, smelled, played with, seen and figured out. For my students to make a positive impact on the future they need to be excited by science. We create paper roller coasters that allow students to plan, design, and test the potential and kinetic energy necessary to make a marble travel from end to end. It's a fun way for students to experience the design process and understand the importance about these abstract concepts.\r\nMaking science real for students is what makes your donation so incredibly important.
