I wanted to share how the iPad and classroom supplies you funded are already making a meaningful impact on my students' learning.\r\n\r\nMany of my donors use technology at home, but classroom technology serves a slightly different purpose. The iPad allows me to model writing, close reading, and annotation in real time so students can actually see how strong readers and writers think through a task. This makes expectations clearer and helps students apply strategies more confidently in their own work. It has become a powerful teaching tool that supports deeper understanding and stronger writing skills.\r\n\r\nWhat excites students most is how interactive the iPad is. They enjoy watching ideas develop live, annotating texts together, and seeing examples instantly. This immediacy makes learning feel more engaging and relevant, and students take greater pride in their work when they can clearly see their progress.\r\n\r\nSome students have connected especially strongly with this technology. Reluctant writers and students who benefit from visual modeling feel more confident when they can watch the writing process step by step. Students who are strong verbal thinkers also appreciate having a clear structure to help them turn ideas into organized writing. Overall, more students are participating, asking questions, and taking academic risks.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has helped create a classroom where students feel supported, capable, and motivated to learn. Thank you for investing in my students and in their voices.","fullyFundedDate":1768099175386,"projectUrl":"project/a-creative-hub-for-student-voices-in-eng/9992293/","projectTitle":"A Creative Hub for Student Voices in English Class","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Amini","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrsamini"},{"teacherId":9556329,"projectId":9402215,"letterContent":"I am very grateful to have a classroom set of measuring tapes in my classroom! We used them yesterday for an activity that was powerful in student learning. The students split into groups of 2 or 3 and used the measuring tapes to measure one group member. Then we went outside to measure the shadow of the same student. It was a bit chilly, but it was sunny, and the shadows were long (almost exactly twice as long as the person!). We then had 3 groups work together to measure the shadow of the flagpole. When we got back to the classroom, we set up a proportion to figure out how tall the flagpole is. I plan to refer back to this activity throughout the next month as we learn more about similar figures and their proportions.\r\n\r\nThis activity gave my students a new way to think about proportions. Proportions aren't just numbers on a page, but they can represent real things--real measurements that unlock the ability to solve real problems, like measuring the flagpole, when it would otherwise seem impossible.\r\n\r\nWe will be using our Geometry templates in an upcoming art project, and I'm super excited to have such a great resource so the students can really excel.\r\n\r\nI am grateful for the support from donors like yourselves that help to make my classroom one of exploration, discovery and real learning.","fullyFundedDate":1758049515947,"projectUrl":"project/geometry-tools-for-memorable-hands-on-le/9402215/","projectTitle":"Geometry Tools for Memorable Hands-On Learning","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Marshall","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9556329_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1755695796455","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9556329"},{"teacherId":8169764,"projectId":9279016,"letterContent":"These calculators have immensely helped my students. I requested these books last year, and this fall we are finally opening them together as a class for the first time. The novel is used alongside our historical readings and lessons, giving students a chance to connect nonfiction learning with the lens of historical fiction. Having both perspectives allows students to see not only the facts of history but also how those facts affect human lives, emotions, and relationships. Reading fiction within a historical context helps them better understand abstract concepts such as complicity, identity, and responsibility by seeing those ideas reflected in the lives of characters.\r\n\r\nIn our classroom, reading is always active: students annotate, write weekly responses, and connect each chapter to the larger questions we are asking about human behavior and moral choice. Already, I see many of them deeply engaged with Bruno and Shmuel's story—especially students who don't usually volunteer during historical lectures but come alive when discussing characters and themes. Several students have mentioned that reading this novel helps them \"see\" our historical discussions more clearly, because they can picture how the Holocaust might have shaped the daily lives of children their own age. These materials are giving students a richer, more personal entry point into history that is otherwise very heavy and distant.\r\n\r\nAs we continue through the semester, what I need most in my classroom are resources that make history both rigorous and relatable: texts, visuals, and opportunities for students to connect across different types of learning. Your support in providing this book has done exactly that, and I am deeply grateful. You have given my students not only a novel to read, but also a tool to build empathy, critical thinking, and lasting understanding of one of history's most important lessons.","fullyFundedDate":1741013788490,"projectUrl":"project/enhancing-holocaust-and-genocide-studies/9136750/","projectTitle":"Enhancing Holocaust and Genocide Studies Through Literature","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Parsons","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9696751_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1724286800344","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9696751"},{"teacherId":9496756,"projectId":9026612,"letterContent":"The treats provided for our parties last year were such a huge motivator for the students.
