When our classroom received the boxes of art supplies, the students' reaction was pure joy—they cheered, clapped, and couldn't wait to open everything. It felt like Christmas morning! Their excitement quickly turned into creativity as we began several themed art projects. They brought the wonders of space and the solar system to life, connecting their creations to the excitement surrounding the Artemis II mission. Their owl art—made with India ink and glowing fluorescent eyes—showcased an incredible level of imagination and detail.\r\n\r\nWe also explored culture and history through art, using our new caulk pastels to create vibrant adobe-style pieces inspired by our study of Native American life in the Southwest. These projects beautifully complemented our social studies lessons, allowing students to express their understanding in meaningful, visual ways. The materials weren't just supplies—they became tools for storytelling, creativity, and connection.\r\n\r\nThe students are eagerly counting down the days until after spring break, when they'll start using the easels for the first time and experiment with layering techniques using acrylic paints. Because of your generous support, we'll be able to complete at least seven more art projects this year, bringing our total to twenty—far more than the single project most secondary classes complete each quarter. Your donation has transformed our classroom into a vibrant studio for creativity and learning, and we truly can't thank you enough for making that possible.","fullyFundedDate":1768683041427,"projectUrl":"project/creating-courage-and-confidence-through/9798148/","projectTitle":"Creating Courage and Confidence Through Art","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Moore","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp3304252_orig.jpg?crop=1090,1090,x168,y281&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1599848005348","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3304252"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_68483","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":525,"numTeachers":33,"percentFrplEligible":53,"percentAsian":4,"percentBlack":4,"percentWhite":49,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":30,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"15.9:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":70.2,"schoolId":68483,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Daffodil Valley Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Daffodil Valley Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/washington/sumner-bonney-lake-school-district-320/daffodil-valley-elementary-school/68483"}
