In the academic setting, students are required to read across all content areas. When students are able to read fluently, they are better able to comprehend what they are reading which leads to better academic performance across all content areas. \r\n Your contribution will give me the opportunity to instill a love of reading in my students. I am glad to be able to introduce my students to books with main characters that are more relatable to them. When students are better able to see themselves in the characters they are reading about, they are able to connect more with the story. They become more interested in what they are reading and this interest encourages them to want to read more of the same types of books with similar story elements.\r\n Thanks to your support, these books will find their way into the hands of eager learners and readers.
