In the library at Crestwood Middle School, we work very hard to encourage reading for pleasure, as this is something that can be treasured for the rest of their lives. Once we do get the students interested in just the right book, It can be disheartening for them not to be able to continue the story when we do not have the next in a series or the sequel to a book. \r\n\r\nThe books purchased with this project give the students the opportunity to keep engaging with the stories, characters, and settings in which they have fallen in love. I have seen the excitement and hope in their eyes when they come in to return a book they loved, and to ask if we have the next book.
