Because of your generosity, our music classroom now has beautiful ribbon streamers and a large parachute that are bringing joy, movement, and creativity to our lessons every day.\r\n\r\nThe very first time my students saw the new materials, their faces lit up with excitement. They could hardly wait to try them! We began with a movement activity where students used the ribbon streamers to show different musical elements—smooth vs. bouncy rhythms, fast vs. slow tempos, and high vs. low pitches. It was incredible to see how quickly they connected their movements with the music, and how confidently they expressed themselves in a way that went far beyond what we could do before. The parachute has been equally magical—students are working together to show musical form by raising and lowering the parachute during different sections of a piece. One favorite moment was when the whole class listened intently for the return of the \"A\" section in a song so they could all lift the parachute high together.\r\n\r\nYour gift has given my students a hands-on way to internalize music concepts while also practicing teamwork and creativity. My students are experiencing rhythm in a truly hands-on way, feeling the beat under their palms as they play together. The larger sizes allow us to explore a greater variety of tones and dynamics, which has deepened their understanding of how percussion can shape music.\r\n\r\nDuring a recent lesson, we used the drums to layer different rhythms, and the joy on my students' faces as they created music together was priceless.
