We use them up very fast. Nearly every day we use whiteboards. I have a class set that has a graph on one side and is blank on the other. We also have standing whiteboards where the students work in pairs or groups of three doing their math problems. I have a picture of each scenario.\r\n\r\nMy students were super impressed that someone was willing to donate that many markers. I heard a few gasps and saw lots of smiles. They understand how important of a resource they are.\r\n\r\nThe routine in my 8th grade math class is to use whiteboards for practicing math. Research has shown that the students have more confidence to attempt a new problem with a whiteboard rather than pencil and paper. The standing whiteboards are a great way for the students to explain their thinking, collaborate and work together. \r\n\r\nAs for me, getting this donation was a huge relief. I ask the students for donations but I don't get many. My classroom funds are somewhat limited. This really made my day and my school year. Thank you so much.","fullyFundedDate":1778866587381,"projectUrl":"project/whiteboard-markers-for-math-thinking-te/10275589/","projectTitle":"Whiteboard Markers for Math Thinking, Team Group Work","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Hudson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8939522_orig.jpg?crop=779,779,x2069,y201&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1674593370909","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8939522"},{"teacherId":8939522,"projectId":9356584,"letterContent":"Thank you for these whiteboards. My original class set of boards were showing some real wear and tear. A lot of the graphing lines had been worn off and were hard to use. Not only that, but the blank sides were getting scratched up as well.\r\n\r\nThe reason is probably because I use these boards nearly every day. They are one of the best tools I have. Research has shown students are more willing to put their thinking down with a whiteboard than with traditional paper/pencil. For this reason, I use the boards all the time. \r\n\r\nNow that we have these nice new clean boards, I know my students will appreciate them and we will take good care of them. Thank you for taking the time to donate these. They will enhance the learning of my 8th grade math students. I guarantee it. :)","fullyFundedDate":1749834018770,"projectUrl":"project/whiteboards-with-coordinate-graphs-for-m/9356584/","projectTitle":"Whiteboards With Coordinate Graphs for My 8th Grade Math class.","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Hudson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8939522_orig.jpg?crop=779,779,x2069,y201&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1674593370909","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8939522"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_96425","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":802,"numTeachers":37,"percentFrplEligible":46,"percentAsian":14,"percentBlack":3,"percentWhite":44,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":23,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":12,"gradesServed":"Pre-K - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"21.7:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":84.5,"schoolId":96425,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Creekview Ranch School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Creekview Ranch School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/dry-creek-joint-elementary-school-district/creekview-ranch-middle-school/96425"}
