As a first-year teacher, having a library that supports both math, science, and social-emotional learning has been such a gift. These books have helped us explore big ideas like problem-solving, patterns in nature, and how scientists make discoveries — while also teaching important lessons about teamwork, perseverance, and handling frustration when something doesn't go as planned. They give us a fun way to introduce skills like asking questions, making predictions, explaining our thinking, and even practicing how to share ideas respectfully. Reading in our classroom often turns into a group discussion, where students connect the story to their own experiences and to the hands-on experiments we do.\r\n\r\nSome of my students are absolutely loving these books! A few who were unsure about science at the start of the year now race to grab our STEM picture books and share facts they learned with the class.
