This held the students accountable to work together and answer the questions better than their opponents!\r\n Seeing all the snacks put a spark into the review and became a very friendly challenge, because not only did they have to answer the questions correctly, but they also had to show good sportsmanship! \r\n We have all agreed that we will use this method at the end of all novels and any area of ELA that we feel is important to review for assessments. We decided as a class that the extra Chromebook would always be at the back table and any student who needs to listen to our new novel has first choice! We have arranged the supplies in baskets and my students have been on the go with cleaning up after themselves! Each class has voted for new classmates to be the Brewer Dust Busters of the Month! They are responsible for cleaning the desks, the boards and even sweeping the floor!\r\n When the products arrived, they were excited and not surprised because I had already held them accountable for keeping our room clean. It became more personal because they got to nominate students to be responsible for cleaning in order to get the snacks! The personal items, socks and t-shirts will be for emergencies only! We will continue to use this as a motivation to get rewards but most of all to hold each other responsible in cleaning up our room! \r\nAgain, thank you so much for your donations! We took pictures of us taking them out of the bags and boxes. We voted on should the puzzles be used in class or given as rewards! The rewards won! But the winners were so nice they shared the puzzles by using them in class! \r\n What a wonderful way to learn about wind, windmills and the power of the wind! Students used the small windmills to see how the wind produces electricity! What makes this assignment so great is we had days where there was not much wind! So, our discussions became more about what can people do in countries that use windmills when there is no wind. \r\n We will continue to go outside; weather permitting and see if we can get the windmills in full effect! We will be using data from the first times and compare it to the data we collect as we go into another season. As students competed in review games on standards, we had learned the review became a great competition in a positive way!
