My students use their binders every day to stay organized and take responsibility for bringing home homework, important papers, and completed classwork. The pencil pouches have helped students keep track of their personal supplies, making transitions smoother and allowing us to spend more time focused on learning instead of searching for materials.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the new supplies, they were incredibly excited and grateful. Many students immediately organized their binders and pencil pouches with pride and were eager to use their new classroom materials. Something as simple as having their own organized supplies gave them a sense of ownership and responsibility in the classroom.\r\n\r\nOne special moment was watching students carefully pack away their crayons, pencils, and scissors into their new pouches after completing a classroom activity about emotions and end-of-year reflections. They were excited to use the materials while also engaging in thoughtful conversations about change, growth, and moving on to the next grade level.\r\n\r\nCurrently, our class is focusing on lessons about farewells, goodbyes, and navigating emotions surrounding the end of the school year. These materials continue to support our daily classroom activities as students complete reflection projects, writing assignments, and memory activities to celebrate their growth this year. As we prepare for the upcoming school year, these resources will continue helping future students stay organized, confident, and ready to learn every day.","fullyFundedDate":1778013607870,"projectUrl":"project/help-us-refill-our-class/9976140/","projectTitle":"Help Us Refill Our Class!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Louis","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10000959_orig.jpg?crop=1244,1244,x0,y551&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1744828404674","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/sarahlouis"},{"teacherId":10356397,"projectId":9908479,"letterContent":"My wish has increased student excitement towards reading with all of the Dogman and Diary of a Wimpy Kid graphic novels purchased. They have access to their favorite series without having to wait for the library to have it checked back in. The ipads have allowed my students to film for various projects such as commercials, advertisements, newsreports, etc.. The sticky pads, lights, chalk, and teacher chair have impacted my classroom by creating fun ways to interact and learn.\r\n\r\nThe Wishes for Teachers program allowed me to have the best resources for my students. It means everything to me knowing this was all donated to me. I wouldn't be able to purchase all of these things for my classroom and now I don't have to worry about the cost. Your support has made a meaningful impact on our students' daily learning experience. The new books have quickly become favorites, especially Giraffes Can't Dance, Ruby's Chinese New Year, and The Lucky Grapes: A New Year's Eve Story. These stories are read often in our first-grade classroom and have sparked so much excitement, engagement, and joy in reading.\r\n\r\nIn addition, the whiteboard markers you helped provide are used every single day, particularly during our math lessons. They allow students to actively participate, practice problem-solving, and build confidence in a hands-on way. It's amazing to see how something as simple as a marker can encourage collaboration and learning.\r\n\r\nWe are truly grateful for your kindness and investment in our classroom. Your contributions have made a significant impact on our students' learning experiences. With the new texts we've introduced, students are developing critical reading skills, such as comprehension, analysis, and critical thinking. These lessons not only enhance their understanding of the material but also foster a love for reading that will benefit them throughout their lives.\r\n\r\nAs we transition back to school, these new books have been instrumental in easing that adjustment. They provide a familiar and comforting structure for students, helping them reconnect with learning after the break. In our classroom, reading has become an engaging and vibrant activity. Students are excited to dive into the new books, sharing their thoughts and insights with one another. It's heartwarming to see particular students flourish; for instance, one of our quieter readers has gained confidence and is now eagerly participating in discussions about the stories. Your support has truly transformed their reading experience, and we are deeply grateful for the difference you're making.\r\n\r\nThank you once again for believing in our mission and empowering our students!\r\n\r\nWarm regards,\r\n\r\nMs. Sarah Louis\r\n1st Grade Teacher\r\nCottonwood Elementary","fullyFundedDate":1746785554056,"projectUrl":"project/backpacks-bookmarks-my-ultimate-back-/9259264/","projectTitle":"Backpacks & Bookmarks: My Ultimate Back-to-School Reads","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Louis","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10000959_orig.jpg?crop=1244,1244,x0,y551&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1744828404674","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/sarahlouis"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_70755","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":526,"numTeachers":36,"percentFrplEligible":27,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":3,"percentWhite":42,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":42,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":9,"gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"14.6:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":75.9,"schoolId":70755,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Cottonwood Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Cottonwood Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/arizona/vail-school-district/cottonwood-elementary-school/70755"}
