Students are motivated to have meaningful conservations in order to complete their tasks. \r\n\r\nIn addition, students sharpen their critical thinking skills by analyzing and supporting each other's learning. In our special education classroom, we focus a lot on understanding emotions, building empathy, and connecting to the world around us—and these stories have been the perfect tools to support that. Through guided reading and discussions, my students are learning to identify characters' feelings, make predictions, and relate the stories to their own experiences. These lessons not only strengthen their comprehension skills but also help them develop important social-emotional awareness.\r\n\r\nReading in our classroom has become a time my students truly look forward to. They love taking turns reading aloud, looking at the pictures, and sharing how the characters might feel or what they would do in similar situations. A few of my students who were once hesitant to read are now more confident and excited to explore new stories. It's been so heartwarming to see them connect with the books in meaningful ways, and I'm so grateful to our donors for making that possible.","fullyFundedDate":1752345416835,"projectUrl":"project/big-feelings-brave-hearts/9384764/","projectTitle":"Big Feelings, Brave Hearts","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Aquino","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10045868_orig.jpg?crop=3023,3023,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1748498870590","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/jasmine-aquino"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_105885","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":620,"numTeachers":33,"percentFrplEligible":27,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":3,"percentWhite":30,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":58,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"18.8:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":58.5,"schoolId":105885,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Copper View Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Copper View Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/arizona/sahuarita-unified-school-district/copper-view-elementary-school/105885"}
