They are working together and having fun together. This is something that I love to see!\r\n\r\nThe Spot It games have been a fun way for students to look for the details. This has definitely transferred to their reading when trying to pick out the important details in their reading. Students struggle with picking out what is important in a passage. Each reading group was able to choose one of the books purchased to read and participate in small group activities and questions. The fun part was next. Since all books used were written by the same author, we then brought the 5 groups together to do an author study. We were able to compare and contrast her style of writing in each of the five different books read. This was a definite eye opener for many of the students to analyze the style of writing among different books.\r\n\r\nThanks again for your donations to help bring this project together. Many students were interested and went on to read more of her books on their own. It was fun to see the impact made on these young 5th graders.
