STEM is a vital component in classrooms today for preparing our students for the future. This project seeks to motivate and encourage student engagement through problem-solving and creative thinking processes to build simple machines while exploring different STEM-related careers in the library setting. Our students need rigorous and creative challenges which rely on teamwork, communication, and problem-solving techniques. With the provided materials, students will be able to explore simple machines, pulleys, levers etc. making connections with engineering and other STEM-related careers. Research in the library setting will also take place tying in an academic connection. Our library is a place of inquiry. Older and younger students are paired together to work on projects, fostering a collaborative working environment among all ages. The library is the heart of our school where creative learning takes place daily!
