Kindergarten teacher Mrs. Donzi read books about kindness and ways we treat classroom materials. She discussed how we treat ourselves, others, and the things around us. She went over how to work as a team to keep CP a happy, kind, clean and organized place! Some of our new books are offered to GrandPals and students to read and enjoy at school and at home too!\r\n\r\nIn the library, students have been enjoying reading the new books individually and as a whole class. We read and discussed Kindness is My Superpower and learned how we can be kind doing little things every day! Students made connections to the story and shared their personal experiences. For example, several students shared ways they have surprised family members with random acts of kindness like writing notes of gratitude. \r\n\r\nAlso, we utilized the Kid's Mindfulness Cards in our Coping Skills Cafe this week with grades 3-5. Students rotated to different centers where they explored various coping skills. For example, students went to a meditation center where they practiced breathing techniques, like the ones from our new mindful cards!
