Our students have used the black sharpies for their creativity in our habitat unit and use them for their art. We have also benefitted from them for number talks where I give them a problem and all they do is talk as a warm up activity about how they can solve the problem. Then, I label the strategy, write their name and write or draw their math strategies. \r\n \r\nAlso, the clipboards have been really useful in our classroom. The students have used them when working in pairs or groups for writing, math and other activities such as dictation and writing corrections. Another example of how the supplies have been helpful were when I wrote examples of sentences with different types of punctuation and students wrote their own after. To add on, my students usually gear towards the clipboards when we are doing something on the smart board, carpet, or whiteboard so they can easily see and write on a stable surface. \r\n\r\nFurthermore, my students were extremely happy when they saw the materials. We will soon start using vertical whiteboards, which are math problems displayed around the classroom that students work in small groups to problem solve. We will be constantly using these materials to support students learning.
