As an English teacher, my biggest goal is to get students to fall in love with reading. What usually happens, however, is that students are presented with many books through the course of their education, yet many resent the actual act of reading because it isn't interesting or appealing to them. Furthermore, reading has been recognized as a \"boring\" activity and requires students to think during a recreational moment. \r\n\r\nThrough your donation of the graphic novels, I've been able to open up a new world of reading to students that stretches beyond the many words they see on a page. These graphic novels have allowed students to get introduced to the act of reading for enjoyment. Not only that, but due to the titles that you've purchased, students can also see themselves in the literature that they read. Through all this, I am able to work towards my goal of getting students to appreciate and enjoy reading. I look forward to holding discussions with students regarding the books that they've read.
