The students had a blast planting the seeds and watching them grow. As their plants grew, so did the students' vocabulary and understanding of plants. The clear cups were perfect for them to see the roots under the soil. \r\n\r\nFirst we planted the seeds in soil. Then each student got a turn to water the plants as the days and weeks went on. The plants began to grow and the excitment was unreal! They loved it. Each day students would go to the windowsil to see how thier plant was doing. As we learned about plants in our curriculum, stuednts would often raise their hand and say, \"yeah just like our plant!!.\" When the unit was over, students came out of it with a much better understanding of what plants need to grow, the parts of the plant, and an interest in plants.\r\n\r\nStudents took away so much from this hands-on learning experience, and we would not have been able to do it without your support.
