The raised bed was easy to put together. The plant workers at our school were kind enough to move it outside once I assembled it. The students made an assembly line to move wood chips into the garden bed. It was hard work but they enjoyed it. After that they added soil; the next thing to do was transfer some potato and carrot seedlings to the bed. (They were kitchen scraps that I brought from home.) Next, all of the kindergartners were able to plant a sunflower seed. The students from the other classes were happy to take part. Finally, my students took turns watering the garden.\r\n\r\nEveryday we would check for progress. You cannot imagine the excitement once the seeds started to sprout!
