Your gift has had an immediate and meaningful impact on my students and the way they are engaging with reading and history.\r\n\r\nFrom the very first chapters, students have been making powerful real-world connections to the story. Because much of the book takes place in locations near our community, they are excited to recognize familiar names and landmarks. Comments like, \"That happened on my street!\" and \"I know where that is!\" are common during our reading discussions, and these moments of connection are deepening their engagement and comprehension.\r\n\r\nAs we explore the story together, students are also grappling with larger themes of justice, courage, and perseverance. Many have expressed frustration at the injustice faced by the radium girls and have shared how it's inspiring them to think about what it means to stand up for themselves and fight for what they believe in. These lessons go far beyond the pages of the book — they are shaping students' understanding of history, fairness, and their own voices in the world.\r\n\r\nThis project has transformed our reading experience and brought history to life in ways that truly resonate with my students. Thank you again for making this possible. Your generosity has given them not only a great book, but also the opportunity to connect with their community's past and reflect on their role in shaping a just future.","fullyFundedDate":1746886732852,"projectUrl":"project/radium-girls-reading-about-our-hometow/9331194/","projectTitle":"Radium Girls; Reading About Our Hometown Heroes","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Del Rio","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp361162_orig.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1637163604811","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/361162"},{"teacherId":361162,"projectId":8468018,"letterContent":"This has been a great project.
