Because of your donation, students have had an excellent opportunity to create projects they can take pride in and admire long after they are completed. Through these experiences, they are developing important workforce skills that can support future career opportunities. Many students also discover that they truly enjoy the work, which may grow into a lifelong hobby.\r\n\r\nWith the donated wood lathe tools, students have been able to create decorative wooden cups. If they choose, they can finish these cups with a food-grade oil, allowing them to be used for functional purposes as well.\r\n\r\nStudents are also using the donated arc welding electrodes to practice and strengthen their welding skills. For some, this hands-on experience is helping build the confidence and technical ability needed to pursue careers in skilled trades.\r\n\r\nWe truly appreciate your generosity and continued support of our students and program.","fullyFundedDate":1767231187071,"projectUrl":"project/carving-out-life-skills-with-creative-de/9873136/","projectTitle":"Carving Out Life Skills With Creative Designs","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Kuehl","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-4_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10326186"},{"teacherId":10303236,"projectId":9796215,"letterContent":"With this donation I am able to purchase activities that make learning more engaging and I can differentiate the activity to fit the needs of my students. I can use it for Reading and Science activities, which will benefit over 100 students. I am already planning on using it to purchase activities for the Olympics, Super Bowl, Valentines Day, and more so the students are able to connect their learning to real- life events happening in the world. The futon is definitely the biggest hit. We have set up groups that we rotate through so everyone has equal time on the futon. Students are playing the new games together during our morning snack break. It's hilarious to hear them playing \"What Do You Meme\" and you can see their creative side during \"Pictionary\".\r\n\r\nThe new books have opened students' eyes to two new series. I love the interest that this has generated. The students have given book talks to share why they recommend others give the books a try. The new book shelf has been a fun way to display books as our shelves were overflowing. Also, all of the students received a new smelly bookmark.\r\n\r\nThe students helped open the boxes as the materials arrived, and their excitement was magical. They were in awe that a local company would support our classroom in such a way. Your generosity has not gone unnoticed. \r\nCurrently, all of the items that were purchased are used as rewards for positive classroom behavior. In order for students to get the rewards, they need to earn DOJO points. Those points that they earn turn into DOJO dollars. At the end of every month, they get to use their DOJO dollars to purchase rewards from my DOJO store. I just had my first \"opening\" of the store and the kids were so excited. \r\nAt the beginning of the year, I showed my students all of the amazing rewards that they could purchase. Their excitement and curiosity was something I will never forget and the look on their faces was priceless. \r\nThis project would not have been possible without all of your generous donations.
