As they are building up their reading skills and English proficiency, they will enjoy snuggling up with a book of their choice in my Relaxed Reading corner of my classroom. Having a wide variety of books that are accessible, inclusive, and representative boosts students' interest in reading and their curiosity about different storylines and characters.\r\n My students who are early in their reading development are particularly excited for fresh books that are within their reach without being juvenile or dumbed down. Students who have more time on task reading independently develop stronger reading skills (and often a love of reading!), and having a robust and dynamic classroom library helps to get and keep even my most reluctant readers actually reading.\r\n Thanks again for your support. It is a boost to my classroom and to our school community.","fullyFundedDate":1747212260384,"projectUrl":"project/graphic-novels-to-light-a-path-to-englis/9334859/","projectTitle":"Graphic Novels to Light a Path to English Literacy","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Nguyen","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp245074_orig.jpg?crop=407,407,x0,y25&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1667488218069","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/profecasari"},{"teacherId":9222481,"projectId":8764959,"letterContent":"By having this project funded has helped my students in many ways! We all learn differently, and as adults we approach new learning in the ways we find most comfortable to us. For example, some learn by listening to podcasts in a car, some learn by reading the book, some learn by listening to the book while out walking the dog. Many people prefer to sit up when reading so they don't fall asleep, but some prefer to lounge. Whatever the learning style, adults adapt and make it work for them. Our kids don't have many options when it comes to their comfort. \r\nWhen I added the rug and wobbly stools, my students reacted like they won the lottery! It was so genuine and the kids appreciated the fact that I was able to get different options for them to sit, lounge, or wobble! to give my kiddos options on top of sitting on a chair at a table. The stools and rug donated by you have made a major impact on my students attention span and engagement.
