By providing 18 sets of AngLegs, you have given my 150 students the ability to physically build and manipulate the concepts they are learning. Instead of just looking at a static image of a triangle, they are now \"reading\" the relationships between side lengths and interior angles by snapping pieces together and feeling the constraints of the shapes. This hands-on experience is the vital bridge they needed to move from concrete objects to abstract visualization.\r\n\r\nIn our classroom, math now looks much more like a laboratory. Students are no longer just sitting with pencils and paper; they are discovering supplementary and complementary angles through physical measurement and proving theorems by constructing identical shapes. You can see the \"aha!\" moments happen in real-time when a student adjusts a vertex and immediately sees how that change impacts the entire polygon. It has turned a subject that is often the most challenging into one that is interactive and accessible for every learner, regardless of their starting point.\r\n\r\nWhile these aren't traditional books, these AngLegs have become the most important \"texts\" in our classroom for mastering triangle congruence and trigonometry basics. My students who usually struggle with traditional lectures are the ones enjoying these tools the most; the tactile nature of the plastic strips allows them to participate and succeed in ways they couldn't before. Thank you for providing the tools necessary for my students to see how geometry works in the real world.","fullyFundedDate":1773861477143,"projectUrl":"project/angle-legs/10097662/","projectTitle":"Angle Legs","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Hess","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp5278007_orig.jpg?crop=200,200,x0,y42&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1753200458630","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5278007"},{"teacherId":5278007,"projectId":9490045,"letterContent":"I want to extend my deepest gratitude for your generous contributions to my classroom project! Receiving the chess boards, expo wipes, the inspiration poster, and candy was a moment of pure joy, and the impact has already been wonderful.\r\n\r\nThe most immediate and exciting addition has been the chess boards. When I brought them out, the students' reaction was excitement. Several students who already knew how to play immediately gathered around, and within minutes, they were setting up their own tournaments. The game provides a perfect opportunity for students to practice critical thinking, problem-solving, and sportsmanship during their downtime. The chess boards, along with the inspirational poster—which now hangs by door—have helped create a more engaging, thoughtful, and stimulating classroom environment. The Expo wipes are already invaluable, keeping our whiteboard and desks clean for all the collaboration we do, and the candy was a much-appreciated treat during a recent online game.\r\n\r\nThank you again for giving my students these valuable resources and experiences. Your support reminds my students that people outside our school are invested in their success, and that is one of the most powerful lessons they can learn.","fullyFundedDate":1758834179828,"projectUrl":"project/puzzles-patterns-progress-equipping/9490045/","projectTitle":"Puzzles, Patterns, & Progress: Equipping Our Math Explorers!","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Hess","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp5278007_orig.jpg?crop=200,200,x0,y42&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1753200458630","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5278007"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_20480","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":1415,"numTeachers":71,"percentFrplEligible":13,"percentAsian":9,"percentBlack":4,"percentWhite":73,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":8,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"6 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"19.9:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_MIDSIZE"},"inStateSupporters":60.7,"schoolId":20480,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Clay Middle School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Clay Middle School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/indiana/carmel-clay-schools/clay-middle-school/20480"}
