Because of your support, CAMS middle school students experienced hands-on science in a way that truly brought their learning to life.\r\n\r\nOn the day of the lab, excitement filled the room as students saw prepared trays containing preserved cow eyes, scalpels, and diagrams. They donned their lab coats, safety goggles, and protective gloves and waited eagerly to begin. Some students jumped right in, while others hesitated—but by the end of the lab, everyone participated, whether by making incisions, handling the eyes, or guiding their partners in identifying key structures.\r\n\r\nDuring the dissection, students carefully explored the structures we had only seen in diagrams—the cornea, lens, retina, and optic nerve. Moments like these are why hands-on learning is so powerful. This experience illuminated and deepened their understanding of how their own eyes receive light, process images, and communicate with the brain. \r\n\r\nThis dissection will be a life-long memory for these middle school students.
