Since receiving the equipment, engagement in our agriculture and science classes has skyrocketed. Students are using the engraver to create personalized plant labels, custom signage for their school garden, and even laser-engraved components for their Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) projects. This technology is helping bridge the gap between abstract classroom concepts and real-world application, encouraging critical thinking, creativity, and pride in their work.\r\n\r\nWhat excites students the most is the opportunity to design and produce something tangible that reflects their interests and identity. One student, who previously struggled to participate, has now taken the lead on designing custom wooden signs for our FFA farm stand. Several others are collaborating on engraved artwork tied to sustainability and environmental awareness, blending science, art, and advocacy. This project has not only introduced them to modern tools and technical skills but has sparked confidence, collaboration, and new career interests.","fullyFundedDate":1746785446410,"projectUrl":"project/enhancing-hands-on-learning-with-engravi/9190243/","projectTitle":"Enhancing Hands-On Learning with Engraving, Science, and Creative Tools","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Anderson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8903627_orig.jpg?crop=1491,1491,x0,y252&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1671377552301","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mr-anderson1"},{"teacherId":9471344,"projectId":9044260,"letterContent":"Thank You for Supporting Wellness, Creativity, and CLASS at Citrus Hill!\r\n\r\nAs part of our ongoing efforts to support student wellness and build a positive school culture through our PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) initiatives, Citrus Hill High School recently hosted a Mental Health Fair to spotlight self-care, connection, and kindness.\r\n\r\nOne of the highlights of the week was our Wellness Raffle, where students were invited to participate by writing a positive postcard—a heartfelt shout-out—to a teacher or staff member in celebration of Teacher Appreciation Week. This simple but powerful act encouraged students to reflect on the value of gratitude and sparked a ripple effect of kindness and encouragement across our campus.\r\n\r\nSeveral students were randomly selected from the raffle and given the opportunity to invite a friend to attend our \"Paint with PBIS\" event, an afternoon dedicated to creativity, calm, and connection. This event provided a welcome break from the academic grind and allowed students to enjoy a relaxed environment where they could paint, chat, and recharge.\r\n\r\nAligned with our schoolwide PBIS motto, \"Have CLASS\"- which stands for Character, Leadership, Attitude, Scholarship, and Service-this experience reinforced the values we strive to instill every day. Students demonstrated Character by uplifting staff, Leadership by participating in campus culture-building events, Attitude through positivity and openness, Scholarship in balancing academics with mental wellness, and Service through peer support and kindness.\r\n\r\nThanks to your generosity, we were able to offer this experience at no cost to students. Many expressed how much they enjoyed the opportunity to step away from their routines, be creative, and connect meaningfully with friends. \r\n\r\nThank you for making this possible.","fullyFundedDate":1739212329678,"projectUrl":"project/paint-by-numbers-with-pbis/9044260/","projectTitle":"Paint By Numbers with PBIS","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Dixon","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-3_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9471344"},{"teacherId":8903627,"projectId":8980952,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generosity, my students are now immersed in hands-on learning with hydroponics, aeroponics, and aquaponics! The moment they saw the new materials, their excitement was undeniable—they were eager to explore how these systems work and how they can be used to grow plants more efficiently and sustainably.\r\n\r\nSince receiving these resources, we've set up hydroponic and aeroponic systems in our classroom, allowing students to observe plant growth in real time, track nutrient cycles, and analyze how different growing conditions impact plant health. We recently had a breakthrough moment when students realized how much faster and healthier plants grow in water-based systems compared to soil—a concept that truly clicked once they saw it in action!\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, students will use these systems for their Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) projects, where they will grow crops, track plant data, and apply agricultural science concepts to real-world challenges. Your support has not only provided them with resources but also sparked curiosity, critical thinking, and a passion for sustainable agriculture.\r\n\r\nFrom myself and my students—THANK YOU for helping us grow future innovators in agriculture!","fullyFundedDate":1742325637415,"projectUrl":"project/growing-minds-exploring-hydroponics-ae/8980952/","projectTitle":"Growing Minds: Exploring Hydroponics, Aeroponics, and Aquaponics in Our Classroom","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Anderson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8903627_orig.jpg?crop=1491,1491,x0,y252&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1671377552301","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mr-anderson1"},{"teacherId":8903627,"projectId":8692102,"letterContent":"Thanks to the generosity of our donors, this project has transformed our classroom into a hub of creativity and hands-on learning. The supplies have given my students the ability to engage with the curriculum in meaningful and exciting ways, allowing them to better connect with key concepts through fun, interactive projects.\r\n\r\nUsing the New Resources\r\nMy students and I have been using the materials for a variety of hands-on activities that foster deeper learning and creativity. For example, in a recent unit on soil science, students worked in groups to create 3D soil horizon models using the materials provided. This project helped them visualize and understand the composition of soil layers in a way that lectures and diagrams couldn't achieve. These resources have also allowed us to incorporate artistic elements into our FFA (Future Farmers of America) program, such as creating posters for events, designing SAE (Supervised Agricultural Experience) displays, and making interactive materials for our leadership workshops.\r\n\r\nStudent Reactions\r\nWhen the supplies first arrived, the excitement in the classroom was palpable! Students were thrilled to see the wide range of materials—from markers and poster boards to more specialized supplies for building and crafting. Their enthusiasm carried over into their work, with many students showing newfound pride in the projects they created.\r\n\r\nNext Steps for Our Students\r\nCurrently, my students are working on preparing for an upcoming FFA leadership competition, where they are using the supplies to create visual aids and practice materials for their presentations. These resources are helping them develop confidence and professional skills, both of which are essential for success in the FFA program. Additionally, we are planning a classroom project where students will design and build their own miniature sustainable farming models, tying together lessons from soil science, environmental stewardship, and agricultural chemistry.\r\n\r\nThis project has truly brought learning to life for my students, and it has strengthened the connection between classroom lessons and the FFA's mission to prepare future leaders in agriculture. From designing custom keychains to prototyping their own inventions, they are learning to use technology as a tool for innovation. It's been incredible to see the excitement in their eyes as they watch their designs become real, tangible objects they can hold. The printer has especially captivated a few of my quieter students, who are now more engaged in the classroom, eager to work on projects and share their creations with others.\r\n\r\nThanks to your support, my students are gaining hands-on experience with modern technology that prepares them for the future.
