The books arrived the last week or so of school, so while that class didn't get to enjoy them for very long, they were excited every time a new package came in.\r\n\r\nI was so excited setting up my library for back to school/meet the teacher, and getting to put all the books out. I knew my students this year would be thrilled, and I wasn't disappointed. \r\n\r\nAs they came in for meet the teacher before school started, they were drawn to the book shelves. I heard things like \"Mom, look at all the Dog Man books!\" and \"Ooooh, I have Wings of Fire at home, but I don't have this one yet!\" or \" I didn't know they had 'I Survived' graphic novels!\" and so much more. \r\n\r\nWe're in week 4 of school now, and that shelf hasn't been full since the first day of school. When we received the materials for our morning bins, my students were thrilled. It was like Christmas opening up the packages!\r\n\r\nWe use these materials every morning. As part of their arrival routine, the students come in, unpack and get their materials ready for the day, then choose a bin to work with. They love having this \"play time\", not realizing that they're working their brains too! It gives them a chance to wake up a little, warm up their minds, and have a soft start to the day, while still learning, instead of jumping straight into the academic portion of our learning. \r\n\r\nI love seeing them excited to choose their bins each morning, and showing off what they've done. They love taking pictures of their work with their iPads, and sharing on Seesaw for their parents to see.
