They come with a variety of interests and talents, and it has been my honor to harness their creativity and show them how to create things with your help and generous donation.\r\nWith your help, we have been able to embark on two major projects. First, students were able to create their own spirit gear. Many of the kids who are in the makers club come from families who don't have the resources to purchase a school shirt. One of the first things I was able to teach them was how to create a file that they could then use on our Cricut machine and our new heat press (THANK YOU) to create t-shirts. The exclamations of joy when they held up their creations made a hard day at work turn into one of the best ones of the week. \r\nThe next project that we worked on was creating stickers. I have three incredibly talented artists who have never thought their work was good enough to pursue an art career. Our school has a quarterly Art Mart, and the students all learned to create a sticker in Canva (for those of us who are crafty, not artsy) or to digitize their own artwork. \r\nThe squealing that ensued from my students, including a senior football player, when they pulled the stickers off the Cricut and held them in their hands was the best sound of the month. \r\nThank you.","fullyFundedDate":1746926494482,"projectUrl":"project/makers-gotta-make/9269721/","projectTitle":"Makers Gotta Make","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Flores","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6304572_orig.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1551418545499","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6304572"},{"teacherId":6984898,"projectId":8953663,"letterContent":"Using Google Classroom to deliver the Fahrenheit 451 novel study packet has made the learning experience more interactive and accessible for all students. The digital format allows students to complete assignments, respond to reading questions, and engage in discussions all in one place. Features like embedded links to videos, articles, and vocabulary tools help students connect the novel's themes—such as censorship, conformity, and the role of technology—to the real world. It also supports differentiated learning, as students can work at their own pace and receive timely feedback.\r\nStudents are especially excited by the discussion features and interactive components of the packet. Being able to respond to prompts and see their classmates' insights encourages deeper thinking and builds classroom community. Many enjoy the creative extension activities—such as designing digital posters or writing alternate endings—which give them a chance to apply their understanding of the novel in engaging, personalized ways.\r\nSeveral students who are typically quiet during in-person discussions have found their voice through Google Classroom. One student in particular has been regularly posting thoughtful responses to reading prompts and replying to peers with respectful, insightful commentary. The platform gives students time to process their thoughts and express themselves clearly, which has especially benefited those who thrive in digital learning environments.","fullyFundedDate":1732043708983,"projectUrl":"project/burning-books-scaffolding-a-novel-study/8953663/","projectTitle":"Burning Books! These tools have already transformed my classroom into a lively, hands-on learning environment where students actively participate in discussions about saving, investing, and smart financial decision-making. The games not only make the lessons more enjoyable but also help students see the real-world applications of financial principles in a tangible and memorable way.\r\n\r\nThank you for believing in the power of creative, interactive learning to prepare students for their financial futures.
