My students are being exposed to learning materials they've only seen on Youtube videos attached to our lesson slides. Recently, I've found out my students love puppets. During Reading, I was able to use the finger puppets to represent the different characters. Every student was laughing, giggling, and smiling from ear to ear. After the story reading, all of the students were able to answer the Comprehension questions. These materials helped keep the students engaged and more alert to important story details. As the packages arrived, my students became more and more excited to see the materials I ordered for our classroom. Anytime we received a package, I asked the kids if they wanted to see the goodies. \r\n The next steps for my students current lessons are more visual aids to be created for my classroom. I work with students who have Disabilities, non-verbal, and one visually impaired student. The materials will allow me to create more visual aids using the preferred colors, such as red, green, and black background and laminate them for longevity. Organizations like Donors Choose allow teachers to bring more support materials into the classroom without having to work a second job. Thank you for allowing my students to benefit from this grant. Myself and my students are forever grateful.","fullyFundedDate":1770925590653,"projectUrl":"project/empowering-every-learner/9848929/","projectTitle":"Empowering Every Learner","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Atkinson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-1_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10324700"},{"teacherId":10314168,"projectId":9833946,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generosity, my students are using these new resources daily to bring our learning to life. We've been incorporating them into a cross-curricular lesson where students read and discuss a story, then apply those literacy skills directly to math by explaining their thinking, solving problems collaboratively, and using hands-on materials to model their answers. One standout moment was watching students excitedly retell parts of the story while building and problem-solving together. Learning in the classroom felt meaningful and fun.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, my students were beyond excited. Their faces lit up as they explored the new tools, eager to touch, try, and dive in. The excitement carried into our lessons, with students more engaged, confident, and willing to participate.\r\n\r\nThese resources have opened the door to deeper learning. Our next steps include continuing to integrate literacy into math through problem-solving discussions, written explanations, and collaborative projects. Students will use these materials to strengthen comprehension, vocabulary, and math reasoning while learning by doing. Due to your support, learning in our classroom is interactive, engaging, and accessible for every student. Thank you for giving my students this incredible opportunity.","fullyFundedDate":1760830829703,"projectUrl":"project/every-ability-shines/9833946/","projectTitle":"Every Ability Shines","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Courtney","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10314168_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1760645518896","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10314168"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_124623","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":null,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":39,"percentAsian":4,"percentBlack":37,"percentWhite":22,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":20,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Not specified","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR District Record","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"UNCLASSIFIED","ncesMetroType":null},"inStateSupporters":null,"schoolId":124623,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Christina REACH Program on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Christina REACH Program","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/delaware/christina-school-district/christina-reach-program/124623"}
