Books like the Baby Bear, Baby Bear series by Bill Martin Jr. and Eric Carle are especially powerful for helping students develop confidence through repetition and predictable language, while also supporting memory, listening skills, and expressive language.\r\n\r\nReading in our classroom is interactive, joyful, and social. We enjoy whole-group read-alouds where students chime in on repeated phrases, answer questions, and make connections to their own lives. We also spend time in small groups and independent reading, where students explore books at their own pace, look closely at pictures, and \"read\" stories using both words and illustrations. One of our newest favorites has been Balloons Over Broadway, which inspired our very own Thanksgiving parade in the classroom. We have been utilizing the aprons for our messy art projects. The buzzers are used daily as both verbal and tactile prompts for our students to choose what they would like for lunch each day. We practice different breathing techniques to help calm our bodies so when those frustrating situations happen we know we can take deep breaths to calm pour bodies.\r\nWe have been practicing a variety of yoga poses on our yoga mats. The students look forward to yoga daily.
