I have received some pretty amazing gifts. These gifts have had a positive impact on my classroom. As you know, I teach Special Education in a self contained classroom in which we work on language and social skills. Each student has an IEP, which is an individual education plan. They each have their individual goals to work towards mastery. The items I have received, many play food, and kitchen items. My students are pretend playing, taking turns, sharing and using words to describe what food they have or like. This is huge when my students will use their language skills and continue to build upon what they learn.\r\nThe other items donated helped to make my classroom a calm, safe, inviting place for them to learn. From the bulletin board paper to banners to fun lights, all for a special place for my students. We work hard and play hard.
