Each child received their own teddy bear to take to the \"doctor\". They named their bear and cared for them at each station. The looks on their faces were sweet and full of joy. When the students asked if they could take the bears home with them, they were delighted to learn they were their's forever! This was such a valuable learning experience for our preschoolers as they got to take part in caring for their bear as if they were at the actual doctor's office. They decided what ailments their bear had and how to solve the problem. Many bears received bandages, medicine, temperature checks, and of course a get well soon sticker. I believe this was an event that will have a lasting effect on our students as they learned going to the doctor doesn't have to be a scary thing! We have talked about our clinic experience many times since then and related it to when they go to the doctor's office themselves, whether it be when they are sick or for a well check up. I hope the students will always remember this experience when they look at their teddy bear that they have cared for and loved on!
