Having extra storage in the classroom has been so helpful.\r\nThe storage containers were used to organize the shelves with like items put together. They are also helpful for prepping materials for our math lessons. \r\nThey are small enough size for our young learners to be able to carry easily and put back on the shelf. As I worked with the students, I was able to assess them on the different colors as well as counting how many nuts went on the bolts. One of our favorite projects was \"Reading Buddies,\" where students paired up to read together in the new center. It was truly heartwarming to see how the cozy and inviting space encouraged even my most reluctant readers to dive into books with enthusiasm.\r\nWhen my students first saw the reading center, their eyes lit up with joy! Some gasped and ran straight to the area, grabbing pillows and books with excitement. It was immediately clear how proud and excited they were to have a space created just for them.\r\nAt the time, we were working on reading response journals and book reports. After reading in the center, students reflected on their books by writing about characters, setting, and theme in both English and Spanish. They'll put the letters in alphabetical order and then go through, touching each one and saying the names. I have been able to make sure students have a table free of germs after eating breakfast in the classroom by assigning table helpers to scrub them spotless each morning. After we do an art project involving glue, which inevitably gets on the tables, we have helpers get them back to their original state. When families are coming in for Family Friday or 4th graders are coming in to read, students are able to clean their tables to show off our tidy classroom. We also use these wipes to clean our cubbies and keep them spotless. Our next door Kindergarten teacher has also been able to share with the wipes so her students can keep their tables clean as well!
