We have used the stickers to decorate our choir folders, to reward students for awesome effort, or sometimes as a motivation to complete classwork. My students look forward to earning their stickers and it has been a simple but effective part of my classroom management. \r\n\r\nI'll end with a short story. Just this week, a student came to me and asked for a pencil. There were no more in the share cup so I went to my Donors Choose box and brought out a handful of shiny new pencils for them to use. They looked at the box with a smile, \"You have a lot of good pencils Ms. Abby.\" It was such a relief and joy to have pencils ready for students, instead of stressing about the lack of pencils or why my initial set of 30 pencils has disappeared by November. Your generous gift brought Poppy by Avi and the owl-pellet science materials to life for my students. We've been reading Poppy together and exploring its themes of courage and determination. As Poppy faces her fears and stands up for what is right, students have drawn connections to their own lives, discussing how they can show bravery and persistence when challenges arise.\r\nThe excitement grew even more when we paired the story with hands-on science. After reading about the owls in the book, students dissected real owl pellets, discovering bones and identifying what the owls had eaten. This engaging activity deepened their understanding of food chains and ecosystems and turned a favorite story into a real-world science investigation.\r\nThanks to your generosity, our class experienced literature and science in a way that truly inspires learning.
