What I did not expect was the buckets of collaboration, teamwork, excitement and connection that came from the Chomp Saw! My students worked together to research, choose and prepare projects. They coached each other through using the machine, and they showed more patience and determination than I had yet seen! The Chomp Saw really brought out the best characteristics in many of my students.\r\n\r\nOne particular student, who struggles greatly to engage in academic tasks that he's not confident about, began to work harder than ever on anything we asked him to do... so he could continue working on the cardboard airplane he had begun. The Chomp Saw has propelled many students to work with greater effort and diligence, too.\r\n\r\nBeing a military spouse, I knew the day would eventually come when I had to leave Cheboygan Intermediate School and, due to the regulations of Donors Choose, leave behind the wonderful materials my class and I had been blessed with. My husband and I relocated to southeastern Virginia this July. I'm grateful to have the chance to leave a wonderful tool like the Chomp Saw behind as a sort of parting gift. \r\n\r\nThe above-mentioned student insisted that I take his beloved cardboard airplane with me, and it's now hanging from the ceiling in my new classroom in VA.
