We use them throughout the day during transitions, small group activities, and independent play. A couple of students who previously struggled to sit and focus were able to stay engaged while using sensory fidgets during circle time. These supports helped them regulate their bodies, allowing them to listen, and participate alongside their peers.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the new materials, their reactions were full of excitement and curiosity. They were eager to explore all the material. After we discussed how to use the materials safely and responsibly, we quickly began incorporating them into their routines. \r\n\r\nThanks to our donors, our students now have access to supports that meet their sensory needs and promote self-regulation. These resources are helping our little ones build skills that will support their learning not only this year, but for years to come.","fullyFundedDate":1761422474802,"projectUrl":"project/sensory-supports-for-a-smooth-school-day/9605557/","projectTitle":"Sensory Supports for a Smooth School Day","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Jessica R.","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-5_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9551869"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_127812","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":null,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":76,"percentAsian":4,"percentBlack":6,"percentWhite":8,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":67,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Not specified","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR District Record","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"UNCLASSIFIED","ncesMetroType":null},"inStateSupporters":77.0,"schoolId":127812,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Chavez Head Start on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Chavez Head Start","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/los-angeles-unified-school-district/chavez-head-start/127812"}
