Because of you, our snack box is stocked and ready for our weekly raffle and my 7th and 8th graders could not be more excited.\r\n\r\nHere's how it works: students earn raffle tickets when they show growth in their math skills, when they share a bold idea or answer a question with real thinking behind it, and when they are simply good humans to each other. Every Thursday , we draw tickets and winners get to choose a snack from our box. It sounds simple, but for many of my students in our Title 1 school, it means the world. That snack is a symbol proof that their hard work and kindness were noticed.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, students were genuinely thrilled. They crowded around the box, reading labels and calling dibs on their favorites. But more than the snacks themselves, what I love is what they're working *for* showing up, growing, and treating each other with care.\r\n\r\nNext up, we're diving deeper into our unit on statistics and data. Students are working toward being able to see math not just as numbers on a page, but as a tool for understanding the world around them. The raffle keeps the energy high and reminds them that every small win counts.\r\n\r\nThank you for seeing my students and investing in their joy.
