From quizzes and graphic organizers to feedback forms and revision checklists, the ability to print directly in the classroom has streamlined instruction and reduced unnecessary disruptions.\r\n\r\nThe biggest benefit has been flexibility. Having more choices means they are more likely to find a book that connects with their experiences, passions, or curiosities. For many of my students, this has made reading feel less like an assignment and more like an enjoyable part of their day.\r\n\r\nExpanding our classroom library has also helped create a more welcoming and engaging learning environment. Recently, my students used the new acrylic paints to do a propaganda poster project, and it was wonderful to see how proud they were of their work. Rather than using markers or pencils, they could paint bright, colorful designs that really brought their ideas to life. The posters turned out great, and I could tell they were satisfied with their work. \r\n\r\nWhen my students initially came into the room and noticed the paint, the cleaning supplies, and especially the new loveseat and accent chair, their faces brightened. A few of them immediately voiced opinions that the room felt \"cozy\" and \"homey.\" Having those areas to sit has already had a huge impact. For example, students are more comfortable, and there is a calmer, warmer energy that they desire to sit in and focus.\r\n\r\nThe next step for us is sharing and presenting the propaganda posters to the class, where students will explain the techniques they used and why. After this project, we'll continue to use the paints and flexible seating for future lessons that combine creativity with critical thinking. For a few students who struggle with anxiety or attention, having a visibly clean and orderly classroom has had a calming effect that's helped them stay more grounded during lessons.\r\n\r\nThis technology may seem simple, but to us, it's transformative. The fidget tools have also been a huge hit; they offer quiet, productive ways for students to stay grounded during tests, reading sessions, and group activities.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, the students were thrilled. As we opened the boxes, there were gasps and excitement—especially when they saw the colorful variety of fidgets. As each day passed, they grew more excited and anxious for the arrival. Luckily, they did not take long to arrive\r\n\r\nMy students and I are so grateful for the impact you have had in helping create an improved calming corner in our classroom. Students who suffer from anxiety now have items that can help calm them down. The Koala's have made a huge impact. I have students who spend time holding them and watching how they breathe. Some students say it has helped them be more relaxed. Other students love the music and the heart rhythm sounds the Koala's create. The calming corner has become an improved space because not only do they have the Koala's but they have the weighted cat pillow and the cloud pillow to help them take a breath and relax. Especially when they are having a really bad day or feeling very anxious. Each day students seek the weighted cat pillow to hug, the cloud pillow to lean on, and a sensory anxiety sticker to rub. These tools have helped my students feel more relaxed. They now can breathe more easily knowing these items are available daily for their use when suffering from anxiety or just feeling really anxious. It has made learning a language easier and has helped them focus in class. \r\n\r\n Each day I see the joy and gratitude students feel to walk into my classroom. Some students have even brought their friends in the morning to show them the items in the calming corner. They immediately walk over to the space to enjoy one of the donated gifts. The book breaks down complex topics—like misinformation, social media influence, algorithmic bias, and digital manipulation—into accessible lessons that spark critical thinking and lively debate. These are real-world skills my students will carry far beyond my classroom.\r\n\r\nReading in my classroom is now more interactive than ever. We annotate together, debate issues, and connect what we read to the digital lives students are living every day. Students aren't just reading passively—they're analyzing, questioning, and responding in writing and discussion. One of my students told me, \"I never knew how much media could control how I think. Now I'm seeing it everywhere!\" Another now fact-checks viral TikToks before resharing them. These books have opened their eyes to the media landscape around them and helped them take back control of how they engage with it.\r\n\r\nI've especially seen a spark in students who didn't always see themselves as \"readers.\" Because the content is so relevant to their lives, even the most reluctant students are leaning in, marking up the margins, and coming to class ready to talk.
