The students were absolutely thrilled ; they realized right away that they no longer have to worry about whether or not they have access to color printing at home. The social discomfort and anxiety of comparing dull, black-and-white printouts to a classmate's color project has completely vanished. Having this Wi-Fi-enabled printer directly in our classroom has given every single student equal access and total ownership over their work. We also enabled the wire for students to print directly from their Chromebooks, in case the Wi-Fi is down. \r\nWe have already put this printer to incredible use in our Project-Based Learning units! My students are currently using it to build visual vocabulary infographics and design high-quality comic strips to internalize new vocabulary. Instead of spending precious class time coloring worksheets with colored pencils, they are independently printing vibrant, professional-grade materials directly from their Chromebook devices.\r\nWe are looking forward to creating authentic cultural artifacts. Students will eventually begin designing professional travel brochures and cultural portfolios in our upcoming units. I can't wait to see the rich, vibrant colors of the traditions we will be studying.
