The students used them mostly on test days so they had things to work on after finishing a test that didn't require a laptop. A few of the items were made out of foam so they were definitely quiet so others could finish testing.\r\n\r\nThe students were so excited to see that people had purchased things specifically for them. I heard many of them say, \"Oh, I love these things!\" Also, \"Ooh, I haven't seen this one yet.\" It was wonderful to also hear them politely asking each other to have a turn when they were finished.","fullyFundedDate":1773670632327,"projectUrl":"project/brain-teaser-pleasers/10146984/","projectTitle":"Brain Teaser Pleasers!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Radtke","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-1_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10461860"},{"teacherId":9651062,"projectId":9872000,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generous support in providing cordless hot glue guns, cardboard, and hot glue sticks, students were able to fully engage in a hands-on engineering experience that brought real-world design challenges to life. These materials allowed students to safely and efficiently build functional prototypes, including foot braces, therapeutic toys, and model mazes inspired by authentic client needs.\r\n\r\nWith reliable access to building supplies, students were able to move through the full engineering design process: brainstorming, sketching, constructing, testing, and refining their ideas. The ease and flexibility of cordless tools made it possible for students to work independently and collaboratively without interruption, leading to more productive building time and deeper iteration of their designs.\r\n\r\nThis project had a significant impact on student learning by strengthening problem-solving skills, spatial reasoning, and perseverance. Students also developed empathy as they considered the needs of others while designing their solutions. Because of your support, I was able to create a truly immersive STEM environment where students saw how engineering can be used to make a meaningful difference in people's lives, while building confidence as innovative thinkers and creators.","fullyFundedDate":1769465027754,"projectUrl":"project/the-next-generation-of-problem-solvers/9872000/","projectTitle":"The Next Generation of Problem Solvers","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Patel","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9651062"},{"teacherId":9651062,"projectId":9415578,"letterContent":"This robotics project challenged students to design and navigate a complex two-level maze using remote-controlled robots, while relying entirely on teamwork and communication. Because the student operating the robot could not see the maze, success depended on clear, precise directions from teammates who observed the course. This dynamic pushed students to develop strong communication skills, practice problem-solving in real time, and think critically about spatial relationships and strategy. As teams tested and refined their designs, they learned the value of collaboration, perseverance, and adapting to challenges.
