My school is in the process of updating all teacher and student laptops. The $1000 provided by Samsung Solve for Tomorrow through Donors Choose went towards one teacher laptop which will help both teachers and students. The money saved on the teacher laptop will help us provide multiple student laptops. Our goal is to go one-to-one next year as opposed to having chromebook carts in our classroom, which is what we currently have. A lot of our teacher laptops are refurbished but many years old. This will help ensure that we have a long line of laptops available to teachers as needed.\r\n\r\nThe cardstock will be used in my classroom to help students find the centroid of a triangle. They will balance the card stock on their pencil eraser, demonstrating that it is the balance point of the triangle. I have only been able to use regular paper for this so far, so it will be nicer to have a paper with more weight to show that the centroid truly is the balancing point of a triangle for years to come.","fullyFundedDate":1778006338444,"projectUrl":"project/samsung-promising-stem-innovation-award/10205488/","projectTitle":"Samsung Promising STEM Innovation Award","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Tanzer","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-6_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10048391"},{"teacherId":3929455,"projectId":9815747,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generosity, reading in our Spanish classroom has become more engaging, accessible, and joyful. These books introduce students to high-frequency vocabulary and natural language patterns that help them understand meaning and build real Spanish proficiency.\r\n\r\nReading now looks like students choosing books they're excited about, reading at their own pace, and confidently talking about what they understand. The Diary of a Wimpy Kid series in Spanish has been a favorite, especially because many students know the stories in English and feel empowered to read them in a new language.\r\n\r\nThis influx of books has also helped me see which genres resonate most with students, guiding future instruction and selections. Most importantly, hesitant readers are now reading daily—proof that your support is making a meaningful difference.","fullyFundedDate":1760372306042,"projectUrl":"project/lee-ms-inspiring-spanish-readers/9815747/","projectTitle":"¡Lee Más! We have bought several appliances in order to help our science classrooms, such as refrigerators and dishwashers to store important chemicals and to clean effectively.\r\n\r\nWe have utilized new curved computer monitors and laptops to enhance the student technology experience. We have chromebooks, but we needed higher powered technology in order to allow students access to coding and computer programs that chromebooks simply cannot run.\r\n\r\nA big use of our money went towards headphones. We use them in our world language courses and for standardized testing. Students previously had to use the chromebook speaker. We bought headphones that allow students a personalized experience in world language, where they can individually listen and respond to the prompts, since the headphones have microphone capability.\r\n\r\nOur PE classes use a sound tower to encourage students to work out enthusiastically. It helps students engage more as it makes the physical work outs more fun. Lastly, we installed smart signage that is used to message announcements and important information to students. We were able to debut them just in time for our open house. This signage shows that we are moving towards the 21st century in a 20th century building. Prospective parents were excited to learn about how our students fare academically, socially, and emotionally through the smart signage.","fullyFundedDate":1753991074882,"projectUrl":"project/csw-and-samsung-solve-for-tomorrow-proje/9390813/","projectTitle":"CSW and Samsung Solve for Tomorrow Project","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Tanzer","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-6_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10048391"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_63766","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":979,"numTeachers":51,"percentFrplEligible":33,"percentAsian":34,"percentBlack":8,"percentWhite":42,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":8,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":4,"gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"19.2:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_SMALL"},"inStateSupporters":82.4,"schoolId":63766,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Charter School of Wilmington on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Charter School of Wilmington","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/delaware/red-clay-consolidated-school-district/charter-school-of-wilmington/63766"}
