It is an essential part of STEM in the Gym. These are days when we combine Physical Education and STEM. My students use the Nex Playground gaming system to have fun while getting fit. This system has interactive games in which the students' bodies are the controller and they really get the heart rate up and the engagement high. We also bring out the Nex playground as an incentive for students who have integrity. It's a way for them to build a love for fitness while playing and competing. They are so eager to keep the classroom clean and sanitized using the requested cleaning supplies. These materials have been very beneficial in the classroom, especially the magnetic letters, with those students who struggle with basic phonemic awareness skills. Since using the magnetic letters, students have enhanced their vocabulary and increased phonological skills. Their reaction was magical when the materials arrived in my classroom. How they interact and engage during center rotation and cleaning time displays how thankful and grateful they are for all the materials. The ink cartridges for the student printer were also impactful. Students had access to a printer during typing club center rotation and were informed about the importance of ink and how a printer works. I was also able to take advantage of the ink for printing reading fluency passages and additional worksheets to ensure mastery of the standard. \r\n I am so thankful that I was able to create this project for them. I thank you all so much for allowing my project to come to life. Children learn more when they are able to have fun while engaging and learning. Students are able to complete reading and math lessons assigned to them on their Chromebooks at school and at home, which is a great addition to filling in the academic gap for both subjects.
