While I have taught middle school for many years, transitioning back to elementary needed some additional support. I felt a little more comfortable with the older elementary students. I wanted to give students the opportunity to listen to a story and then develop a creative solution. In the images, you can see just a few of the designs my younger students created after we had to figure out how to catch a turkey. \r\n\r\nStudents were excited to see the boxes come into the room. I did not open until my younger students were in the room. A funny side note, because I see each class one day a week, I resealed the box so the big reveal could be done for each class. \r\n\r\nThe younger students (who this project was targeted for) were very creative in their approach to designing various traps. Some students were so proud of their projects that they created short videos to explain how their traps worked. \r\n\r\nThis project has opened up opportunities for STEM in the younger grade levels. They are always excited about coming to class and love to design and build. The engineering design process is always evident in the room. \r\n\r\nThank you again for your support.","fullyFundedDate":1746548016016,"projectUrl":"project/cultivating-great-stem-learning/9238451/","projectTitle":"Cultivating GREAT STEM Learning","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Moore","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp2844716_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1456671863639","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/2844716"},{"teacherId":9891296,"projectId":9047050,"letterContent":"I hope this message finds you well.
