Some prefer to stand, some need to rock or wiggle a little, and others like working close to the floor. Because they're comfortable and able to move when they need to, they stay on task longer, finish their work more quickly, and need far fewer reminders to refocus.\r\n\r\nAttendance is up—several students who used to miss mornings now come in excited because they love having a choice of seats that feel good to them. Behavior referrals have dropped sharply; when kids aren't fighting their chairs, they have more energy left for learning and getting along with each other.\r\n\r\nIn short, your gift turned a regular classroom into a space where every student can learn in the way that works best for them. The room is calmer, happier, and more productive every single day.\r\n\r\nThank you for making this possible. The articles are so relevant to the time of year, and what is going on in the world. They loved the article about ice cream trucks that we used at the end of the past school year. Since we got our first articles near the end of the year, my class only got to enjoy a few articles. However, the subscription carried over into this school year and a new group of students are able to enjoy them as well. \r\n\r\nWe have been using the magazines to explore and practice nonfiction text features. Students have been practicing reading and reacting to what they read. They add reactions to sticky notes and share out what they were thinking as they read. The impact on student engagement has been nothing short of inspiring. From the very first day, these tools have sparked excitement, creativity, and meaningful connections across subject areas.\r\n\r\nOne of our favorite projects has been creating a vibrant ecology wall. During reading, students visit our 3D pen station to design and build models of the plants and animals we're learning about. These creations are displayed on our classroom windows, forming a dynamic and growing ecosystem that supports both our reading and science standards. This visual, hands-on approach has helped students deepen their understanding while taking pride in their work.\r\n\r\nIn math, the pens have brought abstract concepts to life. Students have built 3D shapes to support our geometry lessons and have also classified these shapes as part of their learning. It's been a powerful way to reinforce math standards through hands-on exploration.\r\n\r\nWhat's even more amazing is how user-friendly the pens are. Students now use them during indoor recess, where collaboration and creativity flourish. I've seen teamwork, problem-solving, and innovation—all the qualities of a 21st-century classroom community—blossom during this unstructured time.\r\n\r\nThank you, DonorsChoose and every donor who made this possible. This year I am working with second and fifth grade. The older students are a new age range for me and their sensory needs are more significant than my younger students. I had a few wobble stools but the students were arguing over who could sit in them and my fidget supply was waning. Your support allowed me to provide more students with opportunities to use these materials which greatly helps their focus and comfort level in the classroom.\r\n\r\n Students also get tired of always usig pencil and paper for assignments.
